DAFZ to feature Fossil range

Dubai, March 14, 2009

Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZ) is set to offer an array of products from Fossil, the avant garde watch maker and manufacturer of top class fashion accessories from the US.

“Fossil is a welcome addition to DAFZ’s long list of world famous cosmetic, perfume and designer fashion brands that bring prestige to Dubai as the fashion capital of the Gulf,” said Ibrahim Ahli, marketing director, DAFZ.

He added that the DAFZ office will support Fossil watches distributors Al Futtaim, Time Bridge, Siddiqui and Sons and retailer Rivoli.

Fossil, which declared fourth-quarter net income of $46.3 million, or 69 cents a share, in the period ended January 3, recorded fourth-quarter sales of $464.1 million. International operations of Fossil contribute 55 per cent of its revenues.

The company has a presence in more than 100 countries worldwide and 113 accessory stores.

“The decision to have a regional office in the Middle East is part of our strategy to come close to the market so it will be more convenient for us to extend sales and marketing support to our dealers and distributors in the region,” said Fouad Massoud, regional Sales manager of Fossil in the Middle East.

“This year we are looking at opening our own stores in the UAE.  We had recently opened an office in Athens, Greece and would soon open an office in North Africa,” he added.

Founded in 1984, Fossil has always been avant-garde, whether in terms of technology, the choice of materials or design. The company offers an extensive line of watches under its proprietary Fossil, Relic, MW, MW Michele, MobileWear and Zodiac brands.

“Companies in the DAFZ enjoy modern facilities and the latest technologies to enable them to pursue their strategic objectives,” said Ahli.

“The free zone’s state-of-the-art facility adjoining the Dubai international airport; has offices of Dnata, Dubai customs, airlines, department of neutralisation & residency and Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry,” he emphasised.

The online electronic services of the Dubai Airport Free Zone simplifies the procedures and allows customers of the zone to interact for a variety of services from anywhere in the world. – TradeArabia News Service
