Moda Mall to house exclusive brands

Manama, May 14, 2008

Moda Mall, the ultra-exclusive shopping complex on the ground floor of the landmark Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC), has finalised the last of the new tenant signings this month, with a veritable who’s-who of the fashion world.

The new exclusive brand name designers previously unattainable locally include Burberrys, Louis Vuitton, Roberto Cavalli, Marc Jacobs, and Dior to name a few of the dedicated boutiques with haute couture and ready to wear offerings.

In the jewellery focused Garden Court, shoppers will be dazzled by  jewels from world leading diamond supplier, De Beers, complimented by top jewelers Piaget, Chopard and the latest tenant to sign: Channel Jewellery.

“Moda Mall will be a regional fashion power house, with no comparisons across the region, the sheer number of high end boutiques under one roof in a relatively small complex has never been seen in the region,” said DTZ associate director, the managing and leasing agents for the BWTC development and Moda Mall Centre manager, Duaij Al Rumahi.

He went on to explain that, currently, four units, which are Fendi, Versace, Hermes and Kenzo are open to shoppers with the remaining outlets being in various stages of fitting.

The mall’s anchor store is Villa Moda, the luxury multi-brand retailer which originated in Kuwait in 1991 as the brain child of Shaikh Majed Al Sabah dubbed by the international fashion media as “the shaikh of chic”.

Upon completion Moda Mall will present a unique masterpiece of style and elegance to the public. Its interior effortlessly combines the concept elements of wind, water, motion and the veil highlighted by an awe-inspiring glass-domed entrance, cool marble floors and brushed steel, all creating an ultra modern backdrop against which luxury brands and five-star hospitality meet architectural ingenuity and flair.

Carried into all aspects of Moda Mall’s design, these elements set the scene for a truly one-of-a-kind, sensory shopping and dining experience.

Moda Mall will span approximately 16,500 square metres and will be comprised of the current 6,900 square metre Bahrain Commercial Complex, which is in the process of being refurbished, in addition to a new 9,600 square metre extension located on the ground floor of the BWTC development.

The mall offers a number of other facilities for customers including a range of fashionable cafes and restaurants, a 1,700 space car park and concierge service which is expected to operate seven days a week from 10am to 10pm. – TradeArabia News Service
