Retail brand Principles has unveiled new spring summer collection, Kuwait-based MH Alshaya Co said in a statement.

The new collection of Principles, one of the over 40 global retail brands operated by M.H. Alshaya Co, brings in a fresher and lighter feel in tune with the spirit of the season, it added.

Fabrics have a light, translucent quality, inspirations range from Retro styles from the 70’s and Latino look from the 50’s, whilst an insight into 30’s fashion allows for an elegant, delicate and refined touch, the company said.
 
In pretty tones of coral, lavender, blush and lemon, floral prints on dresses look fresh, particularly with the scale play that is so important this season. Frills, ruffles and layering add to the romantic feel. Chiffons and organza add lightness to this layering, it added.

Feminine 70’s styles from Principles include pretty blouses and couture shells in colours of pale greys and apricot. Waist detailing is noticeable so is the masculine twist to styling. Stylised floral and graphic spot prints add a modern touch to the collection, according to the company.

Principles has also adopted a grown up, sophisticated look with a glamorous Parisian twist. This can be seen in the beautiful tailoring teamed with elegant tops – crisp organza with clean pleated detailing, the company said.

Paying tribute to the colonial look, Principles offers modern tribal prints that are paired with clean safari styling in grown-up hues of vanilla, mocha and coffee high lighted with chartreuse and tomato. A full –skirted silhouette gives this look a glamorous edge. Tailored separates reference the 70’s with sleeveless and cropped jackets matched with tailored shorts or flared pants, it added.

The 30’s inspired cruise collection from Principles comes in a palette of ink through to oyster shades. Soft stripes, ombres, chine effects on prints and pale spot effect jacquards add an element of newness.
