Abu Dhabi Co-operative opens new branch
Abu Dhabi, November 11, 2007
Abu Dhabi Co-operative Society (Adcoops) has opened its 15th supermarket branch in the Muroor area of the capital.
The 6,000 sq m supermarket complex is located close to the junction of 4th Street, also known as Muroor Road, and 31st Street, the society said in a statement.
Adcoops general manager Georges Mojica said the opening of the new supermarket is in line with the company’s expansion plan across Abu Dhabi.
“We intend to reach even the farthest region of the capital,“ he said.
Occupying two floors of the newly constructed complex, the branch offers everything a shopper would need, from fresh foods to grocery items and gardening tools to school supplies.
“Adcoops Muroor offers a complete range of products and will maintain our reputation for competitive pricing,” said Adcoops Deputy General Manager Faisal Al Arshi.
The first floor of the new branch has a department store that comprises fashion, lifestyle, complete apparel and kids wear while the ground level is fully dedicated to the supermarket section.
With a parking space capacity for 150 cars, the new complex will also include other retail and business outlets such as a laundry shop, pharmacy and a bank.
“The new supermarket is aimed to be the shopping destination of all the residents across the capital and those in transit. It is conveniently located and easily accessible to those who prefer to shop at leisure and away from the congestion of the city,” Al Arshi said.
The retailer, which commands an estimated 43 percent share of the Abu Dhabi retail market, has recently opened its 5th megamart branch in Sharjah along Jamal Abdul Nasser Street, Al Majaz 2.
Other Adcoops brands include Mina Center in Abu Dhabi, Costless Electronics, Costless Infotech and 2XL. – TradeArabia News Service
