Smile and Sony clicks for you

Tokyo, September 12, 2007

Sony has launched a new digital camera which detects a smile and automatically takes a photo.

The Sony Cybershot T200's “Smile Shutter” function is a first for digital photography.

This auto shutter system is capable of identifying when someone smiles and will immediately take a shot without anyone needing to

press the shutter - bringing more fun to informal portraits, family shots and other ‘people pictures’.

If there are several people in the frame, the shutter only fires when the main subject - selected using the touchscreen - smiles.

A sequence of up to six smiling shots can be taken without needing to manually press the shutter.

The 8-megapixel camera will go on sale in Japan on September 21 for a price of 48,000 yen. ($421). - TradeArabia News Service
