HP unveils slimmer PC

Dubai, September 6, 2007

HP Middle East has unveiled a newly-designed HP Pavilion s3000 Slimline PC aimed at expanding its desktop PC portfolio.

The new PC, measuring in at just 27.6 centimetres high and 10.7 centimetres wide, has been effectively designed to fit into the smallest of spaces, either upright or sideways, the company said in a statement.

“The Slimline s3000 PC combines style and efficiency into one neat package.  Its innovative and streamlined design is perfect at both ends of the spectrum from the modern space-saving household to an ordinary university dormitory,” said Elena Danici, Category Manager Consumer Products, PSG, HP Middle East.

The s3000 is not only a stylish space saver but packs in a great many benefits as well. The fresh design is easier to use with many innovative, ergonomic features such as an on/off button on the top of the desktop, for when the chassis is based under the desk, the statement said.

With a 15-in-1 card reader and a host of connectivity ports on the front of the PC, there is no need to reach behind the desktop to add peripherals such as cameras or headphones, it added.

Sleek sliding doors on the front of the HP Pavilion models keep everything out of sight when not in use, while for a completely streamlined look, the entire HP Pavilion desktop range features a stylish, wireless, low profile keyboard and mouse, connected via a diminutive USB key.

The monitors boast a low impact, sleek design with a discreet stand that gives the impression that the monitors are hovering above the desk.  This ‘floating display’ is not only good to look at, but serves as a functional storage area especially designed for the new, low profile keyboard.

This keyboard parking area reduces the impact on space without compromising on looks and the elegant style continues with integrated speakers on the back of the monitor.

An innovative monitor base enables users to rotate the screen up to 180° with a smooth, swivelling motion, so content on the screen can easily be shared with others.

A hot key button on the front of the monitor adjusts brightness, contrast and other settings with just one touch, so users can access pre-set viewing modes for optimal performance for gaming, video, photo editing or text. With My Display Software users are able to customise their monitor settings such as brightness and contrast for more specific requirements.

Sharper images and brighter colours come courtesy of HP BrightView technology, on select new monitors, for outstanding graphics whether working on presentations, or editing photos. With the HP w2207, consumers can view entire documents and websites with ease, thanks to the monitor’s ability to rotate 90° into portrait mode. This monitor is also optimised for entertainment, with HDCP technology, which allows the consumer to watch DVDs and view photos in full HD glory.

To personalise the PC, all monitors include HP Easy Clip, a discreet accessories rail running along the edge of the screen enabling consumers to customise their computer with webcams, picture frames or paper holders. – TradeArabia News Service
