Rowenta has successfully completed the first-ever hair styling competition titled 'It Could Be You' in Dubai.
The leading supplier of household and beauty products handed over prizes of Dh35,000 ($9,529) to the winners at the Deira City Centre in Dubai.
The hairstyling duo of Krista Kennell and Steven Harvey beat more than 50 competitors to walk away as champions of the competition, which aims to promote the UAE as a styling, beauty and fashion hub of the region.
Using the newly launched range of Rowenta for Elite Model Look products, participants worked before a live audience and then presented their handiwork to a select panel of judges comprising renowned professionals from the industry.
Being the first hair contest open to the general public, the organisers also gave away thousands of Dirhams worth of beauty and personal care products, and offered the audience a chance to receive a free on-the-spot hairstyling service from professionals renowned in the field.
'The event couldn't have been more successful. I was amazed by the crowd and number of participants in the competition. I was particularly proud of the quality of results that were created using our products and elated to see everyone having a fantastic time on and off the stage,' said general manager, Bahman Group UAE, the exclusive distributors of Rowenta products, Thurayya Bahman.
The ecstatic winners, Krista Kennell and Steven Harvey, received the grand prize of Dh18,000, while Leyli Shadmanova, who participated as hairstylist cum-model working on her own hair, took the first runner-up spot and was awarded Dh10,000.
Another stylist-model tandem, Christopher Naperi and Priya Jayanand, received Dh7,000 for winning second runner-up honours.Trade Arabia News Service
