DWTC backs DSS 2007

Dubai , June 9, 2007

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) will be a key sponsor of the 10th anniversary edition of Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2007.

DWTC has worked with DSS since its launch in 1998, providing host venues for many of the exciting family-friendly events and activities.

'The tenth anniversary of Dubai Summer Surprises is a major achievement for both the organisers and the supporting organisations who have reached this momentous milestone together. DSS has emerged as the region's premier summer fiesta and continues to delight and surprise everyone who participates,' said director general, Dubai World Trade Centre, Helal Saeed Al Marri.

''Dubai World Trade Centre is proud of its historic association with Dubai Summer Surprises, and we are delighted to announce our support for the tenth edition. Dubai Summer Surprises has played an important role in both attracting international visitors and delighting the local community,' he added.

This year's DSS, which runs from June 21 to August 31, 2007, is poised to attract more visitors than ever before. DSS 2007 is anticipated to attract 2.16 million visitors, an increase of 15 per cent from last year, as families from around the region converge on Dubai to take part in the fun.

DWTC's support for the DSS events underlines the adaptability and flexibility of the DICEC as a whole. While it is traditionally seen as the host of some of the Middle East's largest and most prestigious business exhibitions, including GITEX, Gulfood, Arabian Travel Market and Big 5, it is also a much-loved venue for family entertainment activities.

Its long-standing support for DSS means that many children who have grown up in Dubai associate DWTC with their school summer holidays. Trade Arabia News Service
