L&T Construction wins GCC power project contracts

DUBAI, December 31, 2018

India's top engineering and construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said one of its key subsidiaries has secured $299 million worth of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts from the GCC and Asia region.
 
Annoncing the GCC contracts, L&T said its Power Transmission and Distribution Business will construct 115-kV substations with associated transmission lines and cable circuits in Saudi Arabia, while it will undertake 132-kV cable works for a substation in Dubai, UAE.
 
Also, the Indian construction giant will complete an EHV substation order from a reputed customer in Oman.
 
Apart from these GCC projects, the L&T Construction unit has also secured an order for a 275kV substation from the Sarawak state of Malaysia.

On the domestic front, the business has secured EPC orders from reputed developers in India to build 235MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects in the states of Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan.

A one-of-its-kind solar PV plant, floating on a reservoir, will be implemented in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, as a part of Tirupati Smart City mission, said the statement from L&T unit.  

Another order for a Rural Electricity Infrastructure Development project under the DDUGJY scheme has been awarded in West Bengal, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
