SNC Lavlin wins key PDO contract
SNC-Lavalin wins five-year commissioning deal from PDO
MONTREAL, March 7, 2017
SNC-Lavalin has announced that its wholly owned subsidary Kentz Overseas Company has been awarded a five-year commissioning support services contract by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
Under the framework agreement, the company will provide a variety of systems completions, commissioning and start-up service activities on a portfolio of oil and gas megaprojects within Oman, such as the Rabab Harweel Integrated Project and the Yibal Khuff Project.
The framework agreement extends from 2017 to 2022. SNC-Lavalin's specialists will be fully integrated within PDO's commissioning and start-up management team. Services will include full systems completions, commissioning and start-up management, planning, consultancy, supervision, execution and administration of various oil and gas and related facilities, SNC-Lavlin said.
Under this contract, SNC-Lavalin will also implement custom technical training programmes. This will help train and develop local Omanis to perform completions, commissioning and start-up activities independently, utilising specialised local vendor support where possible to maximise PDO's in-country value strategy that aims to secure sustainable technical and commercial benefits for the sultanate.
"We are pleased to support PDO on these integrated schemes that are key to sustaining our client's long-term output," said Martin Adler, president, Oil & Gas, SNC-Lavalin. "The agreement is our first with PDO and expands our footprint in the region. It also builds on our strong reputation for improving certainty of project delivery and ensuring successful start-up for our clients." - TradeArabia News Service
