Egypt phosphate plant on track for 2018 launch

CAIRO, November 24, 2016

A consortium comprising Egypt-based Constec, along with leading Egyptian construction groups Hassan Allam Holding and Petrojet is working on a major phosphate plant in Ain El Sokhna region of the country.

The contract for the project was awarded by military-owned El Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC) to the consortium to implement the project in cooperation with foreign partners, including two firms from Italy and China, reported Amwal Al Ghad.

The ambitious plant project, which will be part of a major phosphate fertilisers complex at Abu Tartour, in Red Sea, will be ready for operations in 2018.

The production of the anticipated phosphate plant will be both allocated for local market and exported to other markets, it added.
