Iran to award key oil projects to CNPC, Sinopec

TEHRAN, August 23, 2016

Iran plans to award the development of two of its major oilfields to Chinese companies, an official of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report.

China's CNPC and Sinopec will be awarded the development of the second phases of North Azadegan and Yadavaran projects respectively; the report quoted Gholamreza Manouchehri, NIOC deputy director for engineering and development affairs, citing Shana.

Both projects are located in Iran's south-western province of Khuzestan, according to the report.

A Chinese delegation will arrive in Tehran in the next few weeks to finalize negotiations, Manouchehri added.
