Dewa eyes talented Emiratis at career fair

DUBAI, May 15, 2016

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) will be directly recruiting UAE nationals for its engineering and technical positions from its stand at the Careers UAE expo which opens on Monday (May 18) at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Specialised committees will interview candidates and complete employment procedures at the three-day expo. The move comes as part of its ongoing efforts to recruit skilled Emiratis, said a statement from Dewa.

This supports the company’s emiratisation strategy, and its ongoing efforts to attract Emirati graduates for all sorts of vacancies, especially engineering and technical roles, it added.

"Dewa has achieved excellent results in Emiratisation, with UAE nationals comprising 85 per cent of senior management and 47.6 per cent in middle management, employing 2,476 Emiratis," stated Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and chief executive of Dewa.

Dewa, he stated, adopts a clear strategy to promote Emiratisation, and hire nationals in specialised and technical positions, as well as develop a generation capable of spearheading the UAE’s water and energy sectors.

"We are committed to participating in employment exhibitions to target Emiratis who want to be engineers and technicians," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
