Iran firm sets up 15 drilling rigs in joint fields

TEHRAN, April 6, 2016

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has set up 15 offshore and onshore drilling rigs in joint fields spudding 100 wells, according to a report.
 
The company i currently drilling wells in Azadegan, South Yaran, Azar, Sohrab and phase 14 of South Pars oil and gas fields, which are shared with neighouring countries, said the Iran Daily report.
 
The firm is finalising the drilling operations of five wells in South Azadegan and one well in Sohrab fields, Heidar Bahmani, managing director, was quoted as saying.
 
Meanwhile, the company drilled 188 wells during the year, representing a 15 per cent rise year-on-year.
