Mehdi ... oil prices should be raised

Iraq says oil prices 'not acceptable'

NEW YORK, November 25, 2014

Iraq's oil minister Adel Abdel Mehdi says current oil prices are not acceptable and that "something needs to be done" about pricing.

Ahead of this week's Opec meeting in Vienna, when asked if oil prices were acceptable, he said that they were not.

"All means should be used to raise the prices," he said when asked if Opec should cut production.

The comments in favor of a cut came in sharp contrast to those from Saudi oil minister Ali Al Naimi who arrived earlier in Vienna, saying that he is "happy as can be" ahead of the meeting. -- Reuters
