Bahrain's summer power plans outlined
Manama, June 8, 2014
Bahrain's top energy users have met the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) to discuss managing electrical load during peak times.
Demand this summer is expected to peak at 3,200 megawatts between 1pm and 4pm and 10pm and 1am every day, EWA chief executive Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa said.
Shaikh Nawaf discussed methods of reducing the impact of this load on the network through co-operation with the 130 companies present, whose annual consumption equates to a fifth of Bahrain's entire yearly power usage, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication. - TradeArabia News Service
