Ruwais refinery in Q1/2012 partial shutdown

Abu Dhabi, May 9, 2011

Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Co (Takreer) plans a partial shut down of its Ruwais refinery for maintenance in the first quarter of 2012, an official said on Monday.

The crude distillation unit will be out for about 30 to 35 days, with about 120,000 barrels per day of capacity offline, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Maintenance is likely to start in January 2012.

Ruwais, the largest refining plant in the UAE, is run by the refining unit of Adnoc (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Takreer. Its current capacity is at 415,000 barrels per day.-Reuters
