Mercedes-Benz Cars ties up with Spotify in Mideast

DUBAI, November 14, 2018

Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East today announced its partnership with Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming subscription service, following its launch in the Mena region.

As the exclusive automotive sponsor for Spotify's launch, this association will connect Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East with a highly-engaged demographic who are passionate about music, a statement said.

Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East customers will be able to access Spotify via Apple/Android CarPlay from the comfort of their car. With CarPlay, drivers’ phones are integrated into the dashboard via Bluetooth, ensuring a safer and more convenient way to listen to music while driving. The feature also helps drivers make calls and send messages and is accessible through Mercedes-Benz’ pioneering in-car MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system, available in all 2019 models.

Lennart Mueller-Teut, head of marketing & communications at Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East, commented: “Mercedes-Benz Cars Middle East is delighted to be the exclusive partner for Spotify in the region. Mercedes-Benz is renowned for innovation and is consistently looking for ways to enhance the driving experience.  The partnership with Spotify is a testament to this, as we increasingly prepare for a future where automobiles become much more than just means of transport.”
With more than 191 million active users globally, Spotify is the largest digital music subscription service in the world, covering both local and international artists, genres, and tracks. Its launch in the region will allow users to access billions of curated playlists for every mood and moment, tailored to their own specific music tastes.
