DUBAI, December 5, 2017

The Gulf Traffic Exhibition and Conference 2017, the region's largest exhibition dedicated to Traffic Management, opened on Monday with over 150 exhibitors to run until December 6 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Themed "Smart Technologies”, the event was inaugurated by  Hassan Al Mansouri, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, in the presence of Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, reported Emirates news agency Wam.

Ahmed Abdullah Al Hammadi, director of the Federal Roads Department, Ministry of Infrastructure Development, delivered the keynote address in which he dwelt on the UAE’s transport and infrastructure vision.

The show opened with a VIP ceremony featuring regional municipal leaders sharing their visions. Discussions will focus on smart mobility within the region.

Speakers dealt with issues including global lessons on key success factors in building a successful PPP programme, ways to enhance multi-modal transportation with smart solutions, while managing risk, laying the groundwork for smart mobility, how the Middle East may best prepare for the future of smart mobility and traffic management 2.0 as a contributor to smarter mobility in cities.

A key highlight for this year, the introduction of Gulf Parking as a brand new standalone exhibition, which will run adjacent to Gulf Traffic, further adds to the brands offering by widening the focus to support other key industry sectors.

This new launch event will cater to the latest in smart payment and intelligent access control solutions from across the world, creating a new avenue for companies to showcase their latest product range to the traffic and transport industries.
