Readers reacted yesterday with derision and dismay to a push by two MPs for new fees to be levied on non-Bahraini car owners using highways and roads.

Jalal Kadhim Al Mahfoudh and Ghazi Faisal Al Rahma have submitted a proposal to double the fees levied on car registrations, driver learning and the issue of driving licences.

Readers called our Arabic sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej saying that MPs are not living “in their time” and lack lucidity and the ability to think reasonably.
