RTA launches smart app for driving licence tests
Dubai, June 5, 2014
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a free knowledge test on a trial base for driver licence applicants via a mobile phone smart app, said a senior official.
The smart app (RTA Dubai) comes as part of the authority's relentless endeavours to harness technology for the service of clients, besides supporting the smart government initiative of Dubai, remarked Hussain Al Saffar, the director of Drivers Training and Qualification, RTA Licensing Agency.
"Obtaining a driver licence is no longer a luxury but a life necessity dictated by the requirements of the job and earning a living. Therefore we opted to add this service to the lineup of RTA Dubai to rid clients of any confusion when going through steps of obtaining a driver licence, be it through a direct test or emulating the tests awaiting driver licence applicants," he noted.
According to him, the service has attracted more than 107,000 users in less than two months. "The smart app can be used in both iPhone and Android smart phones," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
