Infiniti launches Q50 in Middle East
Dubai, April 15, 2014
Infiniti has launched its Q50 sports sedan across the Middle East, bringing distinctive design, top technologies and a new standard of in-car connectivity.
The Infiniti Q50 range introduces the brand’s first hybrid powertrain to the Middle East alongside the 326-horsepower 3.7-litre V6 engine, said a statement.
It combines a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with Infiniti’s Direct Response Hybrid System delivering net 350 horsepower and 536Nm of combined torque with Intelligent Dual Clutch Control, making it capable of reaching 100km/h from a standing start in 5.1 seconds, it said.
All models are equipped with a refined 7-speed automatic transmission with available solid magnesium paddle shifters.
The Infiniti Drive Mode Selector with Eco, Standard, Sport and Custom settings is also standard on all models, part of the advanced customisable digital environment system that allows drivers to create unique settings for engine, transmission, handling and steering controls.
The model features the ‘Predictive Forward Collision Warning’ system, that will alert the driver to risks that lie beyond their field of view, sensing the speed and distance of the vehicle directly ahead and of the one travelling in front of that, giving early warning of a potential accident.
The ‘Active Lane Control’ will help the model to remain in the middle of the lane, preventing the driver unintentionally moving from between the marker lines and reducing the need for minor adjustments of the steering wheel while cruising along highways.
Juergen Schmitz, general manager, Infiniti in the Middle East, said: “Infiniti Q50’s muscular, athletic appearance brings a blend of dynamic exterior styling and Infiniti’s signature ‘double wave’ interior to create design which creates an emotional engagement.
“But Infiniti Q50 also introduces a new era of technology and features to our range. After ten years of development, we have transferred the digital steering system used in aviation for decades to the automotive industry and made it standard across the Infiniti Q50 range in the Middle East in the form of ‘Direct Adaptive Steering’.
“It offers the driver multiple settings of steering weight and response speed, giving them a personalised driving experience to suit their mood, whether it be inspired by performance or the desire for comfort.
The model is available in premium and sport grades, the latter featuring sport styling, brakes and suspension tuning. - TradeArabia News Service
