RLS Bahrain stresses importance of safety while swimming

MANAMA, October 9, 2018

Royal Life Saving Bahrain (RLSB) recently hosted a media roundtable at the Four Seasons Hotel to discuss safety guidelines while swimming and promote awareness about water safety.

The roundtable, held in the presence of RLSB chairperson and founder Shaikha Nayla bint Hamad bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa, discussed the water safety strategy which covers the development of a culture of swimming and enjoyment of water, promoting volunteerism and social cohesion, reducing water-related death and injury, enhancing the appeal of water-related tourism and fostering respect for coastlines and marine habitats.

Commenting on the occasion, Shaikha Nayla said: “With the growing number of drowning-related fatalities in the kingdom, it is crucial that we work together with the community, government institutions, public and private sectors in order to spread awareness on the ways in which we can make our waters safer for both locals and visitors alike. RLSB is currently offering courses in both Lifeguarding and Survival Swimming in order to equip members of the community with the skills required to responsibly enjoy our waters.” - TradeArabia News Service
