DUBAI, July 5, 2017
International law firm Pinsent Masons, which has offices in Dubai (UAE) and Doha (Qatar), has reported a £423 million ($546.6 million) global turnover for 2016/17, up 11 per cent over last fiscal year, helped by its strong Middle East performance.
International law firm Pinsent Masons, which has regional offices in Dubai (UAE) and Doha (Qatar), has reported a global turnover of £423.1 million ($546.6 million) for 2016/17, up 11 per cent over the last fiscal year.
The firm’s Middle East region contributed to this strong performance with all regional practices recording year on year growth in local currency, said a statement from Pinsent Masons.
Almost 85 per cent of revenues were generated from clients operating in the firms' five global sectors; with advanced manufacturing and technology (21 per cent) and financial services (20 per cent), being the largest contributors, it stated.
Excluding the impact of currency fluctuations, the firm achieved like-for-like turnover growth of 7 per cent, it added.
Sachin Kerur, head of Middle East Region at Pinsent Masons, said: “Despite the continued uncertain economic conditions, our business in the Middle East has delivered a strong performance and contributed significantly to the firm’s global turnover.”
“Clients continue to seek the advice of our experienced team of lawyers in Dubai and Doha. Pinsent Masons remains strongly committed to strengthening its presence in the Middle East even more and looks forward to continuing to serve clients with the same level of professionalism which they have come to expect from our firm,” he stated.
John Cleland, managing partner, Pinsent Masons, said: “We remain committed to our vision of being recognised as an international market leader in our global sectors, and this has been borne out by the investments we have made and will continue to make.”
“We are expanding our business to support clients not just across a wider range of geographies and legal service lines, but also across alternative forms of delivery model which provide innovative ways to address the challenges they face,” he said.
“That we have been able to combine that growth with improved profitability gives us significant confidence going into what is an unpredictable year,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
