Bahrain shivers as cold spell sweeps GCC region

Bahrain shivered yesterday as a cold spell swept across the whole of Gulf region with the temperatures in the kingdom dropping to 8 degrees Celsius, said a report.
The Meteorological Directorate at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications forecast a relatively cold weather today (February 8) as well with some clouds and rising sand in some areas.
Northwesterly winds will range from 15 to 20 knots, reaching 22 to 27 knots at times. The department warned of strong winds and called for caution, according to BNA.
Maximum temperature will be 21 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature will be 13 degrees Celsius.
Maximum relative humidity will be 70 per cent and minimum relative humidity will be 30 per cent, stated the report, citing te Met department officials.
Sea waves will rise from 1 to 3 feet inshore and from 3 to 6 feet offshore, it added.
