DUBAI, August 21, 2016

A number of high profile speakers will take part upcoming Arabia CSR Network Forum in Dubai, bringing forth their insights and perspective on CSR and sustainability.

The 7th cycle of the Arabia CSR Forum will be held under the patronage of the League of Arab States on October 19 and 20 at Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay, Dubai.

Esteemed speakers will join from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (Escwa), the League of Arab States, the Earth Institute at Columbia University and Unep-Rowa, to name a few.

It is expected to result in an important guidance to achieve the unification of Arab interests and a synergy of commitment in the region, said a statement.

The theme this year is “Accelerating the Arab Sustainable Development Agenda through Innovation and Collaboration”.

Habiba Al Marashi, chairperson of Arabia CSR Network, said the forum will have four sessions. The first will focus on the current state of sustainability in the Arab world in the wake of the Millennium Development Goals, and what are the most pressing development priorities in light of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The second session will dwell on partnerships for the SDGs; enhancing Corporate Social Responsibility for policy coherence and resilient collaborations. The third will concentrate on “interdependencies and disparities between private, public and civil society collaborators.” Finally, the nexus of youth, innovation and social enterprise will be addressed in the fourth session.
