Batelco backs Golf Trophy event

Bahrain's leading telecommunications company Batelco has backed His Majesty King Hamad's eighth Golf Trophy, organised by the Bahrain Golf Association.
The event will run from November 26 to 28 at The Royal Golf Club in Riffa, Bahrain.
Bahrain Golf Association has invited more than 100 players from Bahrain, GCC, Asia, Europe and South Africa to take part in the annual event, said a statement.
Ahmed Al Janahi, Batelco Group general manager - Corporate Affairs, said: “We extend our thanks to His Majesty for this great initiative to promote golf in the Kingdom of Bahrain and are delighted to help contribute to the success of the event.
“This sponsorship is an inseparable part of Batelco’s sponsorship and donation programme designed to support a wide range of events in Bahrain and promote the kingdom’s name overseas.”
Bahrain Golf Association second deputy president Major General Ali Saqer Al Noaimi said that Batelco has always been very supportive of major events organized by Bahrain Golf Association.
“The success of competitions such as this continues to encourage young Bahrainis to take up the game, with a number of local players now enjoying success locally and regionally," he said.
“The event serves to promote Bahrain as a sporting and tourism destination with facilities that compare to the best the world has to offer.
