Bahrain begins crackdown on illegal taxis

MANAMA, November 3, 2015

Bahrain has launched a crackdown on illegal taxi drivers who transport passengers without a licence, a report said.

Action has already been taken against 64 Asians, six Bahrainis and two other GCC nationals who were each jailed for a month and fined BD1,000 ($2,634), General Directorate of Traffic acting director of operations and traffic supervision Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Yousif, was quoted as saying in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication..
