Currie & Brown official named RICS panel mediator
DUBAI, September 17, 2015
Shafiq Lone, associate director at Currie & Brown, has recently been admitted to the RICS President's Panel of Accredited Dispute Resolvers and Expert Witnesses (Middle East and North Africa Branch) as a panel mediator.
Having originally obtained accreditation with RICS as a mediator, he then furthered his understanding and knowledge of dispute resolution by undertaking additional training to become an RICS-accredited assessor of mediators, said a statement.
"After undergoing rigorous training to become an RICS Accredited Mediator, I am both honoured and delighted to be appointed to the panel. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase RICS through Currie & Brown’s efforts in the Saudi Arabia," said Lone.
As an accredited panellist, Lone will be required to maintain comprehensive continuing professional development (CPD) and will be regularly reassessed on dispute resolution and professional skills, said the statement.
The RICS is a self-regulating standards body operating under Royal Charter and its President's Panel of Accredited Dispute Resolvers & Expert Witnesses (Middle East and North Africa Branch) comprises a full spectrum of dispute resolution practitioners, including mediators, arbitrators, adjudicators, dispute board members, independent experts and expert witnesses, it said.
All accredited panel members must have both the dispute resolution skills and the professional knowledge and experience of the built environment industry that are required to provide an impartial and professional service.
It is the first and only panel of its kind where clients can approach a truly independent body for appointments service specific to construction and the built environment, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
