Bahrain police crackdown on street vendors

MANAMA, September 8, 2015

Car washers, fish sellers and general street vendors have been rounded up by police in the Southern Governorate in Bahrain as part of a crackdown on illegal migrant labourers. Southern Governorate liaison officer Major Fahad Ali Khalifa announced yesterday (September 7) that 13 Asian men without valid work permits had been arrested last month following complaints from local residents, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
