Safety concerns in the Old Manama Suq were highlighted again yesterday (August 30) after a shop was completely gutted by fire.  The clothes shop went up in flames at around 8am as an employee was opening it for the day, according to sources. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire, which quickly spread and damaged other nearby shops as well, the Interior Ministry said in a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
