UAE's Sheikh Mohammed donates to humanitarian cause

DUBAI, August 6, 2015

Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan has donated his prize of Dh1 million ($272,177) under ‘Al Hilal Bank Savings Account’ promotion to the Sultan Bin Khalifa Humanitarian & Scientific Foundation.
 
It is a non-profit organisation dedicated to recognising and supporting the efforts and contributions of individuals and institutions towards improving the quality of life of patients with Thalassemia and other blood diseases, said a statement.
 
The humanitarian gesture was made to honour the foundation’s contributions towards creating a positive impact on society. 
 
The announcement was made during a raffle draw held recently at Al Hilal Bank headquarters in the presence of senior bank officials and a representative of the Department of Economic Development.
 
Sarie Asaad Arar, acting chief executive officer, said: “We congratulate Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan on winning the ‘Al Hilal Bank Savings Account’ prize and we fully appreciate his donation to the Sultan Bin Khalifa Humanitarian & Scientific Foundation.
