Modern technology ‘key investment in Bahrain’s future’
MANAMA, March 16, 2015
Modern technology represents a key investment in Bahrain's future, the Premier said yesterday. He was talking as the kingdom hosted an international eGovernment forum.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa affirmed that GCC countries have made major development and progress in ensuring citizens' welfare, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
This, he said, confirms to the world that GCC leaders, particularly Saudi Arabia, have achieved a lot for their people, guaranteed their rights and provided them with huge potential and capabilities.
“As a result of this, people from all parts of the world look forward to living in the GCC,” he said.
The Premier made these remarks as he received at Gudaibiya Palace participants in the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2015, led by former Swedish premier John Fredrik Reinfeld and Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shaikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah.
The Prime Minister underscored the importance of modern technology as a promising investment field.
“Bahrain is interested in a knowledge-based economy. It encourages innovation and welcomes international investments in infrastructure related to information and communication technology,” he said.
“There are no limits to our knowledge ambitions, especially regarding the consolidation of electronic transactions in government services, and we will never hesitate to adopt any initiatives aiming to use technology to make our lives easier, and facilitate transactions and procedures for Bahraini citizens,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
