UAE video surveillance market on track to top $290m

The UAE video surveillance market, fuelled by an increasing demand for higher security cameras and government mandates, is projected to reach $293.1 million by 2021, a report said.

IP based video surveillance systems, due to their adoption in government projects, have prominently fuelled the growth of the overall video surveillance market in the UAE, added the study “UAE Video Surveillance Market (2015–2021)” released by 6Wresearch, a global market research and consulting firm.

According to 6Wresearch, for upcoming World Expo 2020 more than $200 billion are expected to be spent over the expansion of existing and construction of new public & private infrastructures. In 2020, around 25 million visitors are expected in the country for the World Expo. To provide high security and monitor the activities, large number of security cameras would be deployed at various locations.

Amongst all verticals, government and transportation vertical has accounted for majority of the market revenues and is expected to maintain its market dominance in the forecast period. However, higher growth is anticipated in the commercial segment led by retail, offices, hospitality, and banking.

In UAE’s video surveillance market, northern region has pegged the key share of the market. Cities such as Dubai and Sharjah contributed to the region’s dominance. Dubai being the host city for the World Expo 2020, would witnessed huge deployment of security cameras in the coming years.

Security and surveillance market is growing at significant rate in UAE.
