Prince Abdullah bin Saud bin Mohamad Al-Saud opens Decofair 2014

120 global brands at Jeddah design show

JEDDAH, November 11, 2014

More than 120 top international brands are showcasing their products and services in Saudi Arabia at the kingdom’s only premier global design show that opened yesterday (November 10) in Jeddah.

Running until November 13 at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and events, the sixth edition of Decofair 2014 was opened by Prince Abdullah bin Saud bin Mohamad Al-Saud, chairman of Jeddah Tourism Committee.

Some 13,000 visitors including architects, designers, specifiers, consultants, contractors, distributors, hospitality professionals, students and high net-worth individuals are expected to attend the event over the four days.

“After five previous successful editions, Decofair is now recognised as the most credible and influential industry event in Saudi Arabia, where some of the world’s best design brands and the KSA’s key design professionals can meet,” said Talaat M Abdulrahman, Saudi Arabia show director, Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported us along the way; exhibitors, visitors, designers, speakers, design associations and especially the authorities of Saudi Arabia who have been instrumental in cementing Decofair’s position as the Kingdom’s longest-established design show.”

Over 20 countries are represented at Decofair 2014, a substantial increase on last year’s international presence. Global exhibitors will be present from countries including the UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Turkey, the UAE, Egypt and Malaysia.

International brands include the likes of Vondom, Fatboy, Scavolini, DG Mosaic and Asdi Italian Chair District, Dogtas, Jotun, Hansgrohe, Jacuzzi, Art Ceram, Swarovski, Volga Linen and William Garvey Bespoke Furniture, among others.

Cheryl Durst, executive vice president and CEO of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), said: “We are delighted to continue our support of Decofair as Strategic Design & Knowledge Partner. Saudi Arabia’s interior design market is with no doubt one of the most buoyant markets in the world, making Decofair the ideal platform from which to showcase existing talent and to nurture fresh, visionary design in the Kingdom.”

Decofair also offers local, regional and international design suppliers, manufacturers and service providers unparalleled business development and networking opportunities under a unique business matching programme via the Decofair 2014 Hosted Buyer Programme.

Decofair 2014 also offers via its Decofair Discussions seminars a programme of expert presentations, workshops and interactive sessions that will take place every day during the show that will include speakers from the UK, Switzerland, New Zealand, Norway and the GCC.

Decofair showcases products from nine key sectors: furniture, furnishings, flooring, accessories, lighting, textiles and soft furnishings, outdoor furniture, kitchen and bathroom products and design and architectural services.

Organised by Reed Sunaidi Exhibitions, a joint venture between the world’s largest event company Reed Exhibitions—a co-organiser of global design show Maison et Objet—and Sunaidi Expo, a division of Alfadl Group, Decofair 2014 is open to trade and consumer visitors. – TradeArabia News Service
