UAE launches apps for passport renewal service

ABU DHABI, October 26, 2014

The Ministry of Interior has introduced a new smart phone application for UAE nationals to help them renew their passports smoothly.

With this apps, the UAE nationals will be able to get the ministry's service anywhere any time; without the hassle of visiting the service centers, except in special cases where their personal presence is required, said a senior official.

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, the acting assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports, said the new system will help the Emiratis save ample time and also ensure accuracy and safety of their transactions.

These measures embody the UAE leadership’s vision to provide high-quality services for customers, by constantly improving performance and updating smart applications with a view to introducing additional services, stated Al Khaili.    

Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, the head of Naturalization Department at the ministry’s Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector, said through the apps, fees will be automatically deducted and passports will be sent to citizens' ressicence.

"These applications can be downloaded via the app store according to the phone OS version and support all mobile devices and tablets platforms," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
