Raja Easa Al Gurg, managing director of Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group (Esag) has won the “HMH Award for Excellence”.

The HMH - Hospitality Management Holdings awarded her for her outstanding contribution to the welfare and progress of women in the UAE.

HMH award is a tribute to exceptional women who play an extraordinary role in the UAE society, be it in the field of art, literature, culture, sports, environment, healthcare, business, human welfare or public life, a statement said.

A leading business woman in her own right, Al Gurg has carved a unique niche for herself in the region due to her support and encouragement of Arab women entrepreneurs, it said.

She is the president of Dubai Business Women Council, deputy chairperson of the board of directors, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, and board member of the Dubai Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Dubai Women’s Association. Al Gurg is the first Emirati woman on the board of HSBC Middle East and North Africa and is also on the advisory board of Coutts Bank, the wealth division of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group. – TradeArabia News Service
