Beef Australia to explore export opportunities
Central Queensland, August 10, 2014
Beef Australia 2015, a major event to facilitate new trade and export opportunities for the country’s beef industry, will be held in May next year.
The triennial expo will be held from May 4 to 9 in Rockhampton, Central Queensland. The event will bring together cattle industry leaders and innovators from around the world for a week of show, sales, seminars and new international trade opportunities, said a statement.
Beef Australia 2015 will open with an industry conference with speakers including Australian business leaders, technical experts, producers and guest speakers from around the world. Information and contacts gained at this conference can then be followed up at the Beef Australia 2015 exhibition, it said.
Registered visitors from overseas will be given free entry to the show grounds, as well free access to an International Business Lounge.
In 2012 it attracted more than 80,000 visitors from over 30 different countries,” said Beef Australia chairman Blair Angus.
“It’s the best opportunity producers and industry leaders from Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South America have to engage with all aspects of the Australian supply chain,” he added.
The event will assist visitors to develop contacts in the Australian industry, and view first-hand the beef production systems used on local cattle stations.
To further assist international delegates, the Queensland Government in partnership with the Australian Trade Commission will be hosting a free business matching program called “Handshakes”, said a statement
The program, which includes language translation support, provides an ideal opportunity for international agribusiness companies to meet face-to-face with Australian enterprises and livestock specialists to explore business prospects, it said. –TradeArabia News Service
