Dubai, July 3, 2014

The launch, in collaboration with the UAE Prime Minister's Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, took place during a workshop recently held at the TRA headquarters in Dubai.

The launch represents the next phase in the national project to meet the e-government and m-government targets issued by the government and aims at measuring the progress made in the transition to electronic government service delivery and the sophistication of the services now available in the UAE, said a statement.

With the Readiness Index in place, all concerned parties will be supported in the assessment of the quality of the services being offered and in capturing the feedback of service users.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, director-general of the UAE m-government Initiative, said: "Progress made in rolling out e-government services represents a critical stepping stone in our ability to successfully complete the transformation to m-government services - encompassing all UAE government entities at both local and federal levels.

“The launch of the Readiness Index is a reflection of the project’s commitment to excellence, safeguarding quality right throughout the transformation process and ultimately, ensuring that the best possible service experience for the end user.”

“The UAE m-government Initiative is dedicated to the full implementation of government service delivery through the mobile devices. In this regard we have adopted a clear strategy and have established a realistic roadmap in order to create a service offering that is both efficient and effective for UAE users,” said Al Mansoori.

“The success of the project to date is down to the commitment of all concerned parties and we thank all involved for their support in ensuring this national project is a success,” he added.

The performance indicators for each government service will be measured over a full year using the latest tracking technology, said the statement.
