Visa services unveiled at Bahrain post offices

Manama, June 22, 2014

Applications to issue or renew work permits for housemaids or other domestic helpers will now be submitted through Bahrain's post offices.

Labour Market Regulatory Authority chief executive Ausamah Al Absi unveiled the project as the authority prepares to take over responsibility for issuing visas to domestic helpers from the Labour Ministry, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Employers wishing to have work permits for their maids or domestic helpers will have to submit their applications through 10 post offices across the kingdom, he said.

The move is part of the authority's continuous efforts to improve services, streamline procedures and save time. - TradeArabia News Service
