Saudi visit visa conversion report denied
Riyadh, June 9, 2014
Saudi Arabia’s Passport Department has denied reports that visit visas can simply be converted into permanent residency, said a report.
The inaccurate reports were carried by certain websites and social media platforms, said the Arab News report.
"Some expats have visited the Passport Department offices to get visit visas converted to residency. This is not possible," Col Mohammed Al-Hussain, spokesman of the department in the Makkah region, was quoted as saying.
He urged them to follow either the department's website or the Saudi Press Agency to get accurate information, said the report.
All procedures related to visit visas and other services are very clear and their rules and regulations have been declared, it added.
