Bahrain, Sri Lanka discuss ways to enhance ties

New plans to expand Bahrain-Sri Lanka trade and investment links were part of talks to bolster co-operation as Bahrain’s HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Premier lauded the advanced level of steadily-growing ties and praised the two countries' constant desire to develop them to meet the expectations of their people, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
He stressed the need to expand areas of co-operation, particularly in the economic, trade and investment fields by implementing agreements signed on the sidelines of official talks between His Majesty King Hamad and President Rajapaksa.
The Premier called for the need to intensify reciprocal visits of officials from both countries, highlighting Bahrain's keenness to expand joint action, and ensure that both countries benefit from each other's human and natural resources.
He expressed satisfaction over the signing of agreements in the educational, cultural and sport fields, noting that President Rajapaksa's visit has heralded a new era in bilateral ties.
