Expo to highlight Dubai's achievements

Dubai Executive Council is holding an exhibition that aims to bring the achievements, initiatives, projects and services of the emirate's government under one roof.
The ‘Government of Dubai's Achievements’ exhibition is being held under the theme “Local Government and Global Achievements” from April 8 to 10 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The show, to be held in co-ordination with Ministry of Economy, coincides with the 4th edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM 2014), the leading regional event, which this year focuses on promoting Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) and effective ways to attract investors to various economy sectors in the UAE and the Gulf region.
The exhibition is a pioneering government initiative that has attracted participation of Dubai government departments and institutions to showcase their achievements, practical initiatives, development projects and services, saisd a senior officials.
It is in line with the implementation of UAE Vision 2021 with regards to excellence at the international level, they stated.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Dubai Municipality and Dewa, while several other government departments in Dubai will participate in it including the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department (DNRD), Dubai Police, Dubai Courts, Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP), as well as Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Economic Council (DEC), International City for Humanitarian Services, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment.
The exhibition offers an ideal platform for government bodies to collaborate and share expertise by displaying their emerging projects, initiatives and customer service, said the organisers.
Abdullah Al Shibani, the secretary-general of the Dubai Executive Council, and chairman of Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) said the expo will highlight the strides made by the Dubai government in all sectors to provide better life to the community.
"We are proud to say this exhibition will successfully showcase to the local and international community the achievements of Dubai government departments and strengthen the partnership between government agencies as well as create new development opportunities performance upgrade," stated Al Shibani.
"It will also encourage adoption of best practices at both institutional and individual levels as well as achieving the institutional knowledge management at the level of Dubai government,” he added.
Ahmed Nuseirat, the co-ordinator general, DGEP said: “We at DGEP seek to upgrade the performance of the government departments by raising awareness of a culture of excellence, innovation and quality, while at the same time introducing best management practices and ensuring that proven work processes are adopted in the government sector.”-TradeArabia News Service
