Bahrain is considering introducing new legislation to combat terrorism following Monday’s bomb attack in Daih which killed three policemen.

The cabinet is drawing up new laws, which will be referred to the National Assembly for approval, Parliament chairman Dr Khalifa Al Dhahrani confirmed yesterday, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Meanwhile, the Premier yesterday offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of policeman Ammar Abdu Ali Al Dhalei - killed as he confronted terrorists in Daih. He paid tribute to the martyr killed on Monday in a bomb blast.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa pledged to take a tough stance against the perpetrators and enforce the law to thwart attempts to subvert Bahrain's security and stability.

"There is no compromise when it comes to national security and people's safety," he said, urging all sides to protect national security and take a vocal stance against violence and terror.

"The treacherous hands of terror will never weaken our determination, nor will they sow panic and despair among us," he said, adding that such heinous acts will only make the loyal people of Bahrain stronger than ever to preserve achievements and meet citizens' needs.

He paid homage to Al Dhalei and said the nation will never forget his sacrifices along with his family. - TradeArabia News Service
