Brazil pavilion sees record turnout at Gulfood

Dubai, February 25, 2014

Brazil’s pavilion at Gulfood 2014, a leading annual food and hospitality show, taking place in Dubai has witnessed a huge visitor response, said a senior official.

Visitors were very enthusiastic about the Brazilian food and beverage sectors, indicating a scope for further growth in already flourishing bilateral trade between the Arab region and Brazil, said the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), an organisation that promotes Brazilian products and services abroad.

Ricardo Santana, business director, said: “We are delighted that we supported 77 Brazilian companies to participate in Gulfood 2014, as they have received an enormous response that has surpassed our expectation.

“With the growing demand among end-users for more Brazilian food products and beverages, the event is a vital gateway for the regional traders to interact and seal trade deals with Brazilian companies. We are confident to sign more deals at the event to exceed last year’s $150 million figure.”
