No plans for taxes on individuals in UAE

Dubai, February 23, 2014

There are no plans to impose any taxes on individuals in the UAE, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, was quoted as saying.

“We are studying the issue of imposing new fees for the newly introduced services at federal ministries and bodies," Shaikh Hamdan said, according to a Gulf News report.

Shaikh Hamdan said the ministry is continuously conducting studies on the economic effects of levying taxes on companies. The findings are submitted to the Cabinet, particularly since these taxes are levied on companies in other GCC countries, he said.
