Britons in Bahrain urged to be vigilant

Manama, February 11, 2014

Britons in Bahrain are being warned to be extra vigilant ahead of opposition threats to stage protests this week.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has warned of series of demonstrations are expected to start today (February 11) until February 15 ahead of the third anniversary of the anti-government protests.

Areas such as Tubli and the Budaiya Highway could be affected, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

"These activities may include attempts to disrupt traffic, protests in villages and near economic centres, the burning of tyres, the throwing of Molotov cocktails, and the possible use of improvised explosive devices," say an updated FCO advisory.

"As a result there could be clashes between government security forces and protesters." - TradeArabia News Service
