Draw lessons from past says Bahrain PM

Manama, February 11, 2014

The Premier has urged Bahrainis to draw lessons from past events, pledging not to let the country go back to "those days of terror."

"What happened in Bahrain should be an unforgettable lesson - deeply engraved in the national memory," he said reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa recalled the plotters, who sought through their conspiracies, to destabilise Bahrain and subvert its national security.

He paid tribute to loyal and heroic citizens from all walks of life who stood united to debunk campaigns of lies which aimed to harm Bahrain and undermine its political and human rights achievements.

The Premier hailed the role of journalists and columnists who rallied to defend their country and reveal the truth.

This came as he received at Gudaibiya Palace citizens, media and intellectual figures, journalists and businessmen.

He warned against continuous attempts to sow divisions among Bahrainis, stressing the need to confront heinous divisive calls with unshakable determination.

"The conspiracy targeting Bahrain has not abated," he said, warning that plotters would exploit any moment of distraction to harm the nation.

He was confident that loyal people will defeat all plots. He warned against calls, which may seem appealing at their face value, but hide evil intentions targeting the nation. - TradeArabia News Service
