UAE launches mGovernment portal
Dubai, February 4, 2014
The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the UAE has launched the official mGovernment portal which represents the official resource for all information related to the smart government initiative at the national level.
The portal at mgov.government.ae provides an important source of government applications that avail government services on mobile phones. It also provides the latest updates about the mGovernment initiative including events, programmes, applications, and government services.
This website is directly linked with the official UAE government portal, and is one of the most important sections in addition to the open data section (bayanat.ae) and the UAE e-participation section (sharik.ae).
Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, deputy director general for Information and e-Government Sector at the TRA and mGovernment Initiative director said: "The launch of the mGovernment portal reflects our strenuous efforts in implementing the mGovernment roadmap in all its projects, missions and milestones.”
“We hope that this website will become a rich and essential reference including all data and updates related to this great national initiative launched by our wise leadership in May 2013.
“The launch of this portal comes prior to the upcoming second mGovernment summit that will be held in Dubai. This summit represents the most significant event that tackles issues related to the government management with the participation of key industry experts and local, regional and global officials.
“We look forward to highlighting the importance of this portal and its role and take feedback of concerned parties in our e-presence in general, particularly by our brothers in UAE government entities,” he added.
The navigation bar in the website contains App Gallery, Short Codes, mGovernment initiatives, awards, news, events and various related resources.
The mGovernment Transformation roadmap consists of four main tracks: Establishing the environment for mGovernment to flourish, assessing capability and capacity of government entities, establishing shared resources across government entities at the national level, and finally achieving Citizens’ happiness. – TradeArabia News Service
