Abu Dhabi to start e-Gate registration

Abu Dhabi, January 4, 2014

The registration process for the Electronic Ports’ project (E-Gate) for the citizens of the UAE and the GCC, in addition to residents and individuals who have an entry visa will begin tomorrow (January 5) in Abu Dhabi.

Under this scheme, the Emirati and the Gulf nationals besides the residents and visa holders in the country will be able to do e-Gate registeration free of charge at Galleria Shopping Center in Abu Dhabi, said a statement from the UAE Ministry of Interiors.

The process will continue at the mall until next Thursday.

Major Mohammad Al Zaabi, the director of the E-Port Project, said the ministry has allocated special counters for women and individuals with special needs. The registration will begin at 10am and conclude at 10pm.

The project seeks to simplify travel procedures through the country’s ports and streamline travellers’ entry and exit, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
